Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mix. Her career path has taken her across Broadway to European events and clubs, and even to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine, whose given name has been given as Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang as well as played piano. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music within the Atlanta's R&B scene. The very debut song featuring her voice was called Stalk You the Japanese version of 12 song. It has been re-mixed and is now component of her repertoire. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine came to national notice during the four shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
